In addition to being a Chiropractor, I am also a certified functional medicine practitioner. I make sure to listen carefully and take a whole-body approach to wellness. To heal, we must take stress off the nervous system and bring balance to the body. We do this by looking at brain, body, gut function, diet, lab work, internal environment, external environment and lifestyle factors to better understand how to help a patient heal. I look at the whole picture.
Before attaining my doctorate, I was a well-established massage therapist for 10 years. I worked with a wide variety of clientele and gained a great deal of knowledge on alleviating various body ailments. I completed my graduate degree at Palmer Chiropractic, where I learned various safe techniques for adjusting patients. I am certified to perform Physiotherapy in conjunction with Chiropractic, as well as Corrective Exercise training.
My passion to learn and help people with their health continues. A large portion of my post graduate education focuses on Functional Medicine and Neurology of the brain. I am currently finishing up a Clinical Mastership Program to attain an Advanced Functional Medicine Certification, developed by world-renowned Functional Medicine provider, Dr. Kharazzian. These clinical models focus to treat neurological, autoimmune, and chronic diseases with non-pharmaceutical applications.
This education has improved my capacity to provide superior care to my patients. The approach is patient-centered, informed by evidence, and collaborative in achieving goals. My focus is on reinforcing positive connections within the brain-gut axis and the body, enabling individuals to lead balanced, healthier, and happier lives. Through education and diverse body therapies, I assist people in achieving success.
With over 20 years of experience in psychotherapy, I have witnessed the transformative healing power that arises from a strong therapeutic relationship. As a Master's level clinician specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy, I honed my skills in therapy and case management while working in community mental health settings. Driven by a passion for assessment, I pursued a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology to further develop skills in psychological testing and empower those I work with. I also serve as the Co-Director of Clinical Training for doctoral students at Psychological Services Center and provide disability assessments for the city of San Francisco.
My diverse background includes working with the LGBTQI+ community and extensive experience in treatment and assessment of trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, self-injurious behaviors, and family dynamics. I offer a supportive yet direct approach and am eager to collaborate with you to achieve your goals.
